President's Message:

Hello fellow prospectors,

I’m getting cabin fever and itching to get out to the claims. The price of gold has gone over $560.00 an ounce and silver is $9.60 an ounce.  WOW!!

If anyone needs help in working any of the equipment please let us know.  We have people in the club that can help.  That is what this club is for.

Think about where you would like to have outings this year.  We will discuss it at the meeting.

My thanks go out to Gena Cameron for her volunteering to put out the newsletter.

May the bottom of your pan turn yellow.

Vice President's message:

Hi everyone: I'm sure you're all looking forward to the new gold prospecting year. All this snow and rain is definitely going to wash lots of the shiny yellow stuff down to the streams, just waiting for us. It may be a late start for prospect-ing, but it should definitely be worth it! Take care, and we'll see you out in the field.

Secretary’s report for January 10 2006 meeting.

Chuck opened the meeting and welcomed all of the visitors.

A motion was made to pass the minutes that were in the November newsletter, it passed.

Chuck asked if anyone is interested in putting together the newsletter for the club and Gena Cameron volunteered. Thank you!

Jesse gave the treasurer’s report.  He also thanks everyone who mailed in their renewal forms.  This helped with the lines somewhat, but please be patient.

Jesse received the registration renewal for the trailer; he said that he would take care of it.

CLAIMS

Our club has access to approximately 15 claims in Southwest Idaho, ranging from Atlanta to Fairfield, and the Boise Basin area to Silver City.  Anyone who is a member in good standing is able to utilize these claims and keep any gold they find.

Miss Lucy   Grimes Creek MOU   Hannah 1   Dream   Flap Jack Mac     Paymaster Golden Rule   China Wine Cup      Silver City/Creek Claims

Old Business:

Rob Robison asked about having the club buy some new equipment, but it was pointed out that the equipment that we already have isn’t being used so why buy new.  A suggestion was made to have a list of what is available printed in the newsletter, but there seems to be quite a bit of confusion.  Anyone who would like to be the equipment manager, please see an officer.

Tami explained what a common outing is to the new members.  She suggested that the club have one this summer.

Stanley Skarzynski asked about have a metal detecting outing for learning purposes.

The Silver City claims might not be accessible this year due to road construction.

New business:

Ron Mackleprang said that he got the ad placed to see if anyone is interested in leasing the club access to their land.

Al Malmstrom discussed the constitution.  He says we need to make some changes.  A motion was made to put together a committee to discuss changes and bring them to the next meeting.  It was seconded by Tami and the club passed it.  The committee is: Al Malmstrom, Ron Mackleprang, and Rob Robison.

The drawing was held.  The following people donated items:

Warren Jindrich – power cord, extension cord, and crazy glue

John Cameron – 2 Knives

Chuck Knapp – bags and sucker bottles

Chuck had a speaker talk about a gas saver for your trucks.

The meeting was adjourned.

Treasurer’s report

I have been processing memberships as they come.  I just mailed a batch of cards out, sorry for the delay.  Our finances are doing well.  The bank account has $5,107.95.  I have drafted a budget that I will present to the board for additional ideas.  Look for more on this in the future.  Tax season is here, so if I am slow in responding to email, please forgive me.
